Choosing A Type Of Salt Water Fish Aquarium

Before people consider setting up a salt water fish tank, they must consider if they want to have live corals or not. A salt water fish aquarium with living coral is really more like an indoor aquatic garden, and they are beautiful to look at. The peak of popularity for coral and salt water fish tanks was in the 1950s, when the suburban home began to take on a more modern feel. With the advancements in technology, especially regarding filtration systems, their popularity has continued into the 21st century.

There are three different types of salt water fish tanks that consumers have to choose from today. There is the "FO" salt water fish aquarium, in which the only living creatures are colorful tropical fish. Then there are the "FOWLR" tanks, which have fish as well as live rocks. And then there are coral reef aquariums, which contain live invertebrates. These can't necessarily contain the most popular types of fish, because they might damage or feed on the reef. When setting up a salt water fish tank, there are obviously many choices to make.

All of these types of salt water fish tanks are beautiful, and can provide people with hours of calming relaxation while gazing at the scene before them. A salt water fish aquarium provides a living piece of artwork, and it is much more fascinating to watch than a television. And remember - invertebrates such as corals are just as much of a living animal as a fish; they are not plants.
