Matching Salt Water Clown Fish With Sea Anemones

A special bond exists between the salt water clown fish and the anemones that host them, and it is very important to place fish and anemone together than will have a good relationship. Sea anemones provide protection for saltwater clown fish, which feed and clean them and sometimes even drive off harmful fish in return. Not all salt water clown fish are appropriate for all sea anemones, though, so it's important for salt water fish aquarium owners to do their homework.

Every variety of saltwater clown fish has certain types of anemone that they prefer to make their home in. The False Percula, for example, prefers carpet anemones, usually accepts bubble anemones, but would absolutely refuse letting an Atlantic anemone into the salt water fish aquarium.
