Starting Off Your Marine Tank

Salt water aquarium fish are definitely amongst the most beautiful creatures that can be found anywhere in the world. There are many species of salt water aquarium fish that can be housed in one's marine tank provided he or she knows what they need in terms of care, such as feeding, environment, competitors and space to grow.

Any marine enthusiast will tell you that setting up a marine tank with salt water aquarium fish is tricky, as tricky as it is to actually choose the salt water aquarium fish. This is so because it is easy to make mistakes with the kinds of fish you choose. It is most advisable to start your marine tank with a few hardy and affordable salt water aquarium fish. Damsels for example, are a great salt water aquarium fish species to start off with. These fish are hardy little creatures and can survive in poorer water conditions than many other marine species. Damsels also aren't fussy about their food and won't cost the earth. However, damsels are some quite aggressive salt water aquarium fish, and although you can easily keep one or two of these tough salt water aquarium fish in a tank you shouldn't try with more.

It is advisable to start your marine tank off with damsels and then add more aggressive fish later. However, if you want to house salt water aquarium fish that are a little bit shy, you need to take your damsels out before adding more timid varieties of salt water aquarium fish. For example, the blue and yellow damsels are two species that are less aggressive than others.
