Shipping information for Saltwater Fish, Live Coral and Invertebrates:

Delivery Date:

Live saltwater fish, coral and invertebrate orders orders are shipped Monday through Friday. During checkout , customers have the opportunity to choose a specific delivery date up to one week in advance. Orders placed before 11 AM EST can ship the same day.

We offer Saturday Delivery as an option. There is a $12.50 added delivery charge for Saturday orders.

Shipping Charges:

Reef Hot Spot is proud to offer Free Priority Overnight Shipping for all Saltwater Fish, Live Coral and Invertebrate orders over $225.

Orders less than $225 are charged a flat shipping rate regardless of how many animals are included in the order. During checkout, customers can choose between two delivery options. UPS Next Day Air for $39.99 delivers to most areas by 10:30 AM or Next Day Air Saver for $29.99 which delivers by 3:00 PM to most areas. For specific delivery commitments in your area, please call 1-800-PICK-UPS.

There is a $6.99 box and packing charge which includes the cost of all packing materials including heat packs or cold packs.

There is a low order fee of $12.99 for all orders less than $60.00.

There is a $10 surcharge for orders shipped to Alaska. The surcharge will be added and charged on the day of shipping.

A 50% restocking fee will be charged to cancelled order if live stock is held more than one week.

In the event of a mixed order containing both live animals and live rock or dry goods, live animals will be charged either of the flat rate shipping options or free shipping as described above while live rock and dry goods shipping will be charged seperately based on the shipping option chosen at the time of checkout.

Packaging, Temperatures And Delivery Areas:

Reef Hot Spot takes great care in packaging live animals for shipping. Every shipment is overseen by an experienced pack manager with over five years of experience successfully packaging live saltwater fish and corals for overnight delivery. Fish and corals are packed in a minimum three bags each with the appropriate amount of water and oxygen to sustain the animals for 48 hours. The shipment is then placed in a styrofoam box which is then placed within a cardboard box and sealed for transport.

Reef Hot Spot ships live animals for delivery every month of the year. Destination and transfer point temperaturs are checked for each individual shipment and heat packs or cold packs are added when appropriate. In the unlikely event of a severe weather delay, Reef Hot Spot will contact customers to set up a new delivery date.

Reef Hot Spot ships to all states except Hawaii. Reef Hot Spot does not ship any live animals or live rock internationally.

LIVE ROCK AND DRY GOODS SHIPPING CHARGES:

During checkout, the website will automatically quote multiple different shipping options based on the product purchased and destination zipcode. Customers choose the most cost effective shipping option for them.

Live rock normally ships in 1-2 business days. Please disregard the requested delivery date option when ordering live rock only. The delivery date will be determined by the shipping option chosen by the customer at checkout.

All shipments are charged a $6.99 handling and box charge.

It is common for new customers to have questions about how well saltwater fish or corals ship. We understand that and would be happy to answer any questions you have.

Our saltwater fish and live corals are packed after 5 PM PST and we ship UPS Next Day Air or Next Day Air Saver.  Our shipments average 14 hours en route from our tanks to yours.  

ReefHotSpot does not take saltwater fish or live coral orders from customers and pass them onto another company to fill, a common practice in this industry.  ReefHotSpot ships from our own facility where livestock can be properly cared for, evaluated and selected for shipping.
